Living Proof
By: Brenda Walsh
Christians sometimes get discouraged because they don’t understand God’s Holy Word and what He is trying to say to them. They get frustrated because they just can’t seem to interpret God’s directions or make sense of His plan for their lives. But if you want understanding, then you must have a close relationship with Jesus, for when your heart is right, His words become clear. You see, God is not hiding His messages from you – rather He is waiting for you to develop the right spiritual condition so that you’ll understand. The Bible says in John 16:12, “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.” You must develop a oneness with Christ through His Holy Spirit before you are prepared to comprehend His truth. When Jesus is your Best Friend, every aspect of your life changes. Some people like to talk about their “mountaintop experience,” but there is no connection between what they say and how they actually live. Because, when your heart is right with God, your daily actions are living proof of Christ dwelling within you. In other words, a Christian truly fueled by the Holy Spirit doesn’t have to wear a name tag or walk around with a sign announcing their love for God. When you are fueled by Holy Spirit power, it is evidenced by your every deed and action – for the light of His love will shine through you!
Text: John 16:13, Mark 4:11-12, Jeremiah 17:9, 1 Corinthians 2:1-16
John 16:13 KJV
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Mark 4:11-12 KJV
And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: [12] That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
