MORNING DEVOTION


*TITLE: HAVE YOU CRUCIFIED THE FLESH?*


READING: “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Galatians 5:24 (KJV)


DEVOTION: Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross of Calvary for the world. This was a shameful and painful thing that Jesus Christ went through for the sake of obtaining Salvation for all who will believe (Hebrews 12:2). As a child of God, let this sacrifice mean a lot to you so that you can be totally devoted to Jesus Christ. Don’t allow the evil desires of the flesh to control you; crucify all the lusts of the flesh to the cross.

It is not easy crucifying the sinful nature with its passions and appetites but let what Christ did for you challenge you to do it so that you can be blessed by God. Fulfilling the lusts of the flesh or a sinful nature can only shorten your life, but crucifying them on the cross will give you peace and prolong your life (Romans 8:6). It will also position you to receive heavenly blessings and visitation of the LORD.

PRAYER POINT: My master and Savior Jesus Christ, thank You for teaching me how to crucify my sinful nature with its passions and appetites. I put Your teaching to practice now, in order to control the sinful nature and bear the fruit of the Spirit. Amen!
