*Broken Wings*

Key Text: Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not for Iam with you; be not dismayed, for Iam your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

The story:

I remember the day I felt weak, without any desire to fight that day’s battle. It was a very difficult day. Not only did I feel sad and worried, but my tribulations seemed so big that it seemed impossible to overcome them. At that moment all my trust in God seemed to have vanished. Looking back on it, it’s painful to see that although God has everything under control, my faith had weakened and I’d forgotten everything He’d done for me in the past.
In order to relax I went for a walk alone. Those fifteen minutes became very intense. As I walked, I looked around at the trees, the green grass, and the beautiful sunshine. It was a perfect environment for happiness, but I couldn’t seem to give all my afflictions to the One who could solve them.
On my way back to work I came across a butterfly. I can’t say it’s the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen, but it’s dark brown colors caught my attention. Since it stopped right in front of me, I was able to look closer, and suddenly I noticed it had broken wings! One wing was worse than the other, but as I approached for a second look, the butterfly began to fly around me. It flew with such freedom, I just couldn’t believe my eyes. How can a butterfly fly with broken wings? I wondered. How can it remain alive even though it’s so wounded? Does it feel pain?
Does it feel incomplete? There were so many questions, to which God responded, if the butterfly flies with broken wings then it’s because I want it to- because I have the power to make it possible. That was His answer. I quickly thought about my life, and how I felt about that very moment. I also had broken wings ; I was full of worries and didn’t have the strength to do battle. Even if you’re hurt again God whispered, if I can make a butterfly with broken wings fly, you can also fly_ even if you’re hurt, even if you feel its impossible to go on. Just let Me take you to the place you need to go. I could not hold my tears of joy. God was telling me that no matter what was happening, He was walking with me.
Can you hear God speaking to you? He says it doesn’t matter how broken or discouraged you are. I can make you fly with broken wings!

If we have God we too can fly from being broken!
