WE ARE TO SAVED TO SERVE OTHERS

“Many professed Christians, in seeking church relationship, think only of themselves. They wish to enjoy church fellowship and pastoral care. They become members of large and prosperous churches, and are content to do little for others.” Chs 179.2

We are saved to serve others. God wants us scattered in different places to share the light of truth. The church is not a place to retreat from the world but a place where we are renewed to reach the world. The fact is, God does not save us so we can sit, but so we can serve.

If God has saved you from your sins, He has called you to serve in accordance with your gifts and abilities. If you have no desire to serve others, and you’re only concerned about your own needs, you should question whether Christ is really in your life. A saved heart is one that wants to serve.

Ultimately, the main reason we don’t reach out is because we don’t love as we should. Love for God and for others should be our greatest motivation to spread the gospel to those wandering in darkness. In this regard, Abraham is our worthy example. His life was defined by his willingness to step out and obey the call of God. He was willing to leave his home country, family, and friends, and go where God called him.

Today God is asking you to leave your comfort zone and share the gospel with others…are you willing?
