Let’s be glad for we’re going to feast a Manna for the soul prepared by ND Willie

Good morning Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

Our manna this morning is entitled:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A CHRISTIAN

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ (Eph. 4:15).

Then moment you accept Christ as the Lord of your life, you also accept certain responsibilities. Refusing those responsibilities creates a weak spot in your dedication and commitment, which leads to your spiritual life becoming crippled and your relationship with the Master, weakened.

When you become a Christian you step into a new life with new values and fresh goals. You no longer live to please yourself, but your goal is Christ, and therefore you attempt to forget yourself in your service to others. The good works that you do for others are the expression of your faith. However, it is not faith itself, because a person who does not believe in Christ can also do good works. Your good works will earn you nothing, but are proof of your gratitude for your redemption.

The new life in Christ has certain requirements if you wish to grow spiritually. It is your responsibility to stimulate this growth. As a disciple of Christ you have the responsibility of honoring your Lord and pleasing Him. You dare not live only to please yourself. You must be completely obedient to God’s will for your life. You are responsible for confessing your sins before God.

Paul continually urges us to be filled with the fullness of God. Christ should become visible in you, and it is the sacred responsibility of every Christian to constantly grow spiritually, so as to reach maturity in faith.
