The New Earth
Every Tear Dried
God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes (Revelation 21:4).
Tears are not all bad. The salty fluid that pours out of the lacrimal glands in your eyes is full of helpful protein, water, mucus, and oil that serve more than one Basal tears are always present in your eyes to keep them from drying out. Reflex tears protect the eyes from harsh irritants like smoke, onions, or dusty wind.
Even crying has its benefits. Emotional tears are common when people suffer loss. Some scientists believe that having a good cry can actually rid the body of toxins. While reflex tears contain about 98 percent water, emotional tears have several chemicals, including hormones, that indicate high levels of stress and even an endorphin that helps to reduce pain and improve mood.
The Bible says that in heaven, “God will wipe away every tear from lour eyes (Revelation 21:4). What type of tears will these be? Perhaps they are tears of grief since the rest of the verse says. “There shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Not all pain is caused by a physical trauma Some pain comes from grieving the loss of a loved one.
Some wonder how heaven can be a happy place when the saved think of loved ones who are lost. We know God promises to wipe away our tears. When the redeemed stand in the New Jerusalem, they will be surrounded by the beauties of the new earth and the pain of their losses and tragedies will fade. The Bible says, “Behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind (Isaiah 65:17)
During the millennium, as the saints review the lives of all the saved and lost, there certainly will be tears shed over missing loved ones who are not in the kingdom. But there will come a time when those final emotional tears will be wiped away by God! What a tender and compassionate heavenly Father we have
