Heart Power

By: Mary Mcintosh

As many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on his name which were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God, John 112, 13

IN 1974 I LIVED ON the East Coast in a little cottage near the ocean while recovering from a separation from my first husband. A college girlfriend, then an airline flight attendant and a Christian, visited me on a Boston layover. She could see that I wasn’t happy and that my life was fragmented, so she asked me if I had God in my heart I said yes, because had been brought up a Christian. As a child and teenager I attended church with my family, and had always considered myself a believer. felt strongly that there was a Supreme Being who ordered everything in this life. and felt that I was in close touch with Him. But apparently not close enough for Pat. She then asked me if had accepted Christ as my personal Savior. “Well, yes, I think I have,” I said.

“If you had, you would know it, and that is what you must do if you want your life to change,” she pointed out. I was sure wanted my life to change, but I already thought it was changing for the better. I spent a whole two seconds thinking about what Pat had said, then went along my merry way-for a while. About three years later, when the better had turned to worse, was ready for a big change. I got down on my knees, and after confessing my sin and pleading for forgiveness, I asked Christ to come into my heart.

When the tears overflowed, I knew my heart was finally engaged. Just before that I had met another person who introduced me to the “into my heart” concept. Putting the two together. I got the point. You have to do something to get God into your life-you have to invite Him in-before things can really change. You can’t just believe, and you can’t just think and talk about Him. You have to confess your sin, believe you are forgiven, and invite Him to join you. He won’t force His way in. for He’s too polite. But He will stay around and, unless you reject Him completely, will patiently wait for you to ask Him in.

God allows you to be in the valley, where you can truly experience the glory of God and His divine intervention in your life.

All to Jesus we must surrender all our perplexities in life.

Psalm 23:4 KJV
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Have a joyful morning everyone 🙏🙏🙏
