FORMING OR TRANSFORMING?
There are two kinds of people in this world; those who spend their lives forming enemies and those who spend their lives transforming their enemies. Two hens who always fight over food will eventually become enemies. But a hawk who always drop food to the ground for a hen can make the hen her friend. Bitterness can turn a friend into a foe, but love can turn a foe into a friend. If bitterness is a poison, then love is the antidote.
Nobody on his dying bed wishes he was bitter to people. When all is said and done, and death is coming for a person, everybody hopes to be at peace with everyone, even their enemies. Bitterness is what keeps a bird from from flying. A bitter bird is always fighting his enemies on the ground and forgets that it can soar. You can’t be better when you’re bitter.
Bitterness takes a person into an early anger, an early broken heart, and eventually into an early grave. Many people have been called the LATE because they permitted bitterness to GERMINATE. If there is something else to exhale in this life apart from air, it should be bitterness. If there is something else to inhale in this life apart from air, it should be love. Love the loveless, be better to the bitter. Life is too short to hold on to grudges, resentments, and hostility. Instead of embracing bitterness, embrace togetherness (Eph. 4:31, 32). God loves you!
