There are always consequences when you do what God has not commanded you to do. That was the case of King David in the book of 1 Chronicles 21:1-30. He numbered the children of Israel when God did not command him. God was displeased with David and He smote Israel (verse 7). It is very important as Christians we take every plan, decision, thought to God before we implement them. David failed to do that and he faced the consequences.
