MORNING DEVOTION

TITLE: ARE YOU LIVING YOUR TRUE NATURE?

READING: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

DEVOTION: Living your true nature is what makes you a Christian. When you genuinely confess Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior, you become a new creation born in the likeness of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). You are no longer a sinner if you are born again; your old nature of drunkenness, adultery, fornication, lies, greed, theft, etc. is replaced by your new nature.

Your duty is to know more about your new nature and live it to the fullest. It will take some time as you practice your new nature, so don’t be too hard on yourself if you sin unintentionally. Confess to God, ask for grace, and move on (1 John 1:9). Living your true nature of righteousness will testify to the world that you are born again, and this will draw others to Christ.

PRAYER POINT: My dear Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for enlightening me about my true nature. Indeed, You took away my old nature of sin and planted Your new nature of righteousness in me. I’m now bold enough to declare that I’m righteous. Please continually lead me to live out my true nature so people can see the change in me and be drawn to You. Amen!
