This night I want to look at growing in the spirit. Some people think that to grow in the spirit is to work for God, prophesy, speak in tongue etc. This is not growth. 1 peter 2:2 tells us that you grow by taking the milk of the word. As you get deeper in the word, you begin to understand the deep things of God which Paul the apostle called meat. The word of God builds your spiritual mind and muscles. With the word you are able to discern and mature. Maturity is your ability to separate the truth from the false. It takes time.These days Christians no longer feed on the word. They look for prophecies from false prophets to give them directions. Do you not know that the word of God is the spirit of prophecy? If you need to know the will of God study the word. Grow in it and with time you will begin to bear fruits and will no longer be ignorant of the devices of the enemy. My prayer for you this night is that you will begin to grow in the Lord by consuming the word, understanding it by the spirit and bear fruit through it in Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
